What is personal data? What is data protection law? Who enforces data protection law? Fines and penalties, key definitions used in data protection law, individuals' rights, data protection principles.
2. THE IMPACT OF DATA PROTECTION LAW
The concept of accountability and demonstrating compliance, personal data breaches, Subject Access Requests (SARs).
3. DATA PROTECTION LAW NEWS & CASE STUDIES
Data protection law in the news, data protection law statistics, case study 1 – accountability, case study 2 – personal data breaches, case study 3 – individuals’ rights.
4. ASSESSMENT
A short assessment comprising of a series of questions to test your knowledge and understanding of the course.
