About The Course
Combining theory, highly interactive learning and real world case studies our Equality and Diversity course informs managers of their duties and responsibilities under the Equality Act in general and in key areas of their work.
Aims of the course
To provide managers with an understanding of what Equality and Diversity means in the workplace, the legislation surrounding it, who is protected by the legislation and what their responsibilities are as a manager.
Who is it for?
The course is for anyone who manages staff.
What is equality? What is diversity? Provisions of a responsible employer, equality and diversity in the news, legislation.
Equality legislation, previous legislation, the Equality Act 2010, new concepts, case histories, statutory code of practice.

The nine protected characteristics, case studies.
4. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
Types of prohibited conduct, discrimination, harassment, victimisation, case studies.
5. GUIDANCE FOR MANAGERS
Vicarious responsibility, who the law applies to, considerations of a responsible employer, core guidance, benefits and penalties, case studies.
A short assessment comprising of a series of questions to test your knowledge and understanding of the course.
