About The Course
Homeworking, whether as a permanent arrangement or as part of flexible working conditions is on the rise, with an estimated 1.5 million people now working at home in the UK for at least part of their working week. A homeworker’s health and safety still remains the responsibility of their employer and although the risks from working in a home office might appear low, there are some important risk management factors that need to be assessed and controlled as part of an employer's commitment to their employee.
The ‘Homeworker’ e-learning course is designed to help people working from home ensure that they stay safe and free from ill-health. With engaging and interactive content, this training programme will help raise awareness of the common hazards associated with working from home and suggest ways to avoid them.
Aims of the course
The aim of the Homeworker course is to ensure that employees who work from home either occasionally or permanently are aware of the hazards and precautions which they are obliged to take while they work. At the end of the course, learners will be able to understand the importance of accident and ill-health reporting, first aid and insurance and also be able to recognise the common hazards associated with working at home.
The course is designed to raise awareness of the employer’s responsibilities to homeworkers and to educate the employee that they have a duty to take reasonable care and ensure suitable precautions are in place to reduce and avoid risk.
